That's the mechanics, and there's nothing secular about a chloroplast. A leaf works the way it works whether the person explaining it loves God or not.
The trouble comes with the meaning questions — how life began, where the universe came from, whether any of this was designed. Those aren't neutral, even though they arrive sounding like plain fact. A general model will narrate the origin of everything as chemistry plus time, no Creator required, and never once flag that as a worldview. It just calls it "the answer." But the why stays anchored in what we already believe: that God made it, and made it on purpose. Studying how a bird's wing generates lift doesn't compete with "the God who made the birds knew exactly what He was doing." Those two facts sit together comfortably. That's not a reason to avoid it; it's a reason to keep it a tutor and not an oracle.
